My main Year Off theme was outdoor adventures. I wanted to gain as much experience as possible in the great wilderness areas of the world. So I got outside and got out of my comfort zone as much as I could during my Year Off.
East Africa is a prime destination for someone traveling during a Year Off. There’s no better place for volunteer work, adventure tourism, immersing yourself in culture, and going on safari to see the great African wildlife. Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya are must-visit countries if traveling abroad.
